Train Cab Ride NL / Schiphol – Amersfoort – Deventer / ICM Intercity / April 2017

Cab view (Train Drivers View) on the intercity service from Schiphol Airport via Amersfoort to Deventer. On the video before this one we’ve been traveling with the same train from Amersfoort to Schiphol and the Train Yard. The train composition hasn’t been changed so we still have those 12 carriages ICMm to drive with. This is because of rush hour on Schiphol Airport during the vacations going on in Holland. We start the video in the Train Yard (Hoofddorp Opstel) and as soon as all train staff is on board and all other preparations are done we are all set to head for Schiphol Airport, the starting point for passengers. It’s 10.27am and we leave the Train Yard right on time. We speed up the train to 130km/h as soon as we’re allowed to and arrive on time at the Airport where we welcome our passengers on board of our intercity service. On our departure you can see the intercity service to Utrecht running next to us. Both trains go to Amsterdam Zuid first. Since a few months there are four tracks between Schiphol and Duivendrecht, so now we can run more trains in the same time than we did before. On our way to Amsterdam Zuid we have need to slow down to 40km/h because there’s a temporary speed limit on the track we’re driving on. As soon as we’re passed it we speed up the train a little bit more before we run into the station. After we’ve departed from Amsterdam Zuid and Duivendrecht we have a one minute delay. This is why we keep the train on its maximum speed until we’ve back in our own timetable. We arrive perfectly on time in Hilversum and Amersfoort. After departure we drive into the beautiful nature scenery on our way to Apeldoorn. Too bad the weather isn’t that great today. Hope I can show you the great scenery in some other video some day! On our arrival in Apeldoorn you can hear the train manager speaking with safety people on the platforms who want to travel with us until Deventer for some support on the train. With a 2 minute delay we depart and a few minutes later we arrive with a 1,5 minute delay at Deventer. The final destination for this video, because another train driver took over the train to run it further to its final destination Enschede. Hope you’ll enjoy this video! Cheerio! Meester Stefan.
