How Students Can "Beat" AI | Pranava Manthena | TEDxFargo

In a world where artificial intelligence is rapidly advancing, what will set us apart? How can we, as students, beat AI at its own game? In this talk, we explore how emotional intelligence—our ability to empathize, connect, and think creatively—might just be the edge we need. AI can automate tasks and analyze data, but it can’t understand human emotions or adapt in the same way we do. We will dive into why developing these human qualities will be essential to thriving in a future shaped by AI., and how our educational system needs to evolve to prioritize these skills." Pranava Manthena is deeply committed to exploring the intersection of AI, business, and education. As a high school student, he has achieved success in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), earning first place at both state and national level competitions. He currently serves as the Florida FBLA State President, leading a student body of +14,000 members. His enthusiasm for learning and leadership has led him to participate in global conferences on AI and education, where he shares his thoughts on how technology can enhance educational systems to better serve students. Pranava is currently working on Solon AI, a free educational tool designed to support student-athletes through deep learning and tailored educational resources. Looking to the future, Pranava aims to continue developing innovative tools that blend AI with human-centered approaches to education. His long-term goal is to build impactful solutions that help students not only adapt to technological advancements but also thrive alongside them. By focusing on the intersection of AI, emotional intelligence, and education, Pranava is committed to driving change in how we prepare students for an AI-driven world. I'm a high school student passionate about AI, business, and education tech. I excelled in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition, winning first place nationally, and founded a website design agency at 16 to explore my interests. I’ve spoken at global conferences on AI and education, and am developing a free educational tool to help students with personal learning. I also research AI and energy. Outside of academics, I'm a Golden State Warriors fan, and I enjoy digital drawing, painting, and traveling. I’m currently studying at Middleton High School and am excited to continue contributing to my community.
