GBO2 Varguil: The raid king of stun accumulation!

This video contains two matches I had with the LV1 and LV2 Varguil on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 650-700 cost raid with high mobility, multiple instant staggers, great midrange ability, incredible stagger accumulation and good melee damage output. It doesn't have many weaknesses at all, though you could say that it doesn't specialize in anything either due to its all rounded nature, it does have less options outside of 250m-300m range as well. I recorded these matches back when the Varguil last got buffed, but I didn't upload them until now because other stuff got in the way. So these matches won't be fully representative of its strength in the current meta, though I think it is still strong. I hope that you enjoy watching! Its primary weapons is a beam shot rifle with 400x7 (2650) power, 75% (80%) heat, 3.5 seconds cooldown, 18 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time, 175m (400m) range, 2 seconds focus time and 25%x7 (60%) stagger value. Charged shots focus quickly and have pretty good all round performance, uncharged shots fire a shotgun blast that can quite reliably stagger enemies, making this a versatile weapon. Its primary melee weapon is a beam tomahawk with 3050 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 80/64% combo modifier and 140% downswing modifier. This has great damage and an easy to use moveset, making it simple to use after stuns. Its first sub weapon is a pair of beam boomerangs with 1750x2 power, 2 ammo, 10 seconds reload, 0.33 seconds swap time and 350m range. These have reload time and a set range like any other ranged weapon, but they can be guided while firing and deal melee damage. Them dealing melee damage means that they can break Maneuver Armor, no matter what level or how much stagger accumulation resistance they have. They stop to fire but its still easy to confirm melee knockdowns if you stun with them. Its second sub weapon is a set of lock on funnels with 300x6 power, 90% heat, 0.8 seconds cooldown, 22 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time, 300m range and 20%x6 stagger value. These can theoretically stagger on their own, but they are most reliable when used in combination with a shotgun blast or before firing follow funnels. They can be locked on while boosting. Its third sub weapon is a set of follow funnels with 225x6 power, 28% heat, 0.5 seconds cooldown, 22 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap time, 300m range and 10%x6 stagger value. These are absolutely excellent, with a total of 1350 damage per shot. This makes them good for both DPS and as an approach tool thanks to them having high stagger power and being able to be fired while boosting. Its fourth sub weapon is a grenade launcher with 1400 power, 1 ammo, 8 seconds reload time, 0.77 seconds swap time, 250m range and 10% stagger value. This has short reload time and is a splash instant stagger, so you can treat it like a pocket bazooka. The LV1 Varguil has 22500 HP, 21 ballistic resist, 21 beam resist and 30 melee resist. It has pretty average durability for a 650 cost raid, nothing spectacular but it isn't squishy or anything.. It benefits from having both LV3 Maneuver Armor and LV2 Emergency Evasion, alongside a 15% damage reduction legs buffer and 30% reduction back buffer. In terms of mobility it has 135 walk speed, 225 boost speed, 50 thrust and 78 turning speed. This is pretty good mobility and it is fast enough for 650 cost. Furthermore, it has the great combination of LV3 Flight Control and LV3 Forced Injector. One benefit Varguil does have over other raids is LV2 Power Accelerator, which allows it to boost away early from melee clashes. In conclusion, I feel that the Varguil is still really strong at 650 cost while also being a decent option for 700 cost. It has a good match-up against the ever present Silver Bullet Suppressor thanks to it being able to quickly stun it when it is crouching, while also being able to reliably win 1v1 situations against generals when the situation calls for it. Even if it can't get into melee range, it has pretty great midrange DPS. At 700 cost it is obviously going to struggle a lot more, but even there it is gonna do a lot better than most raids since it has the stagger accumulation required to defend itself against the Xi Gundam, alongside having even better midrange output for dealing with supports. At 650 cost the only raid that can really rival it is the Messer F02, so I can highly recommend using the Varguil if you don't have the F02. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!
