Hey everyone! Just like with uploading my N64 Bowser's Castle PB in February, this was another special occasion for an upload. This has always been my best track, setting my first World Record here back in 2009 and setting several other milestones here since then through the end of 2010. I always wanted to see myself get a 2:16, even after I set my 2:17.683 World Record here in 2010. With as little bias as I can, this is a hard track to play, and the majority of the player base can say the same. Once we add in the hard wheelie strategy after the cannon and now the newer edition of the wheelie right at the treetop, it makes this track even more inconsistent to finish laps, and moreover to finish completed runs (for myself anyway). My intention picking this back up a little over a week ago was to derust so I can make my next in-depth tutorial which would be here. In doing so, it seems I mustered back the standard I had here back when I drove my best in 2010. This is most definitely my favorite track, has been since 2008 and still is today. I've had the most fun playing the game in this past week in quite some time with playing this track again. It feels great to finally get a time I wanted to get 10 years ago, and had the splits since late 2011 when I started doing attempts with the wheelie strategy after the cannon after my World Record was beaten at the time, and set a 2:17.350 in January of 2012 with a mediocre run in comparison to my 2:17.683. This run just shows me that I have much more to go here, which is motivating. My next goal is to get a 2:15 without the turn skip to continue derusting here and refine some of my driving to accommodate the new strategies. If I meet that mark or get at least a very low 2:16, I'll start attempts using the turn skips to try and reclaim WR here. I want to achieve these goals first as I still am not fast enough here and no where near as consistent as I once was with these new strategies being used now. Historically as of the past ~2.5 years I only ever stick with playing a track when I'm feeling it for a short period of time, so even though this is the outline of what I have planned, I may end up just leaving it at this time and being completely ok with it. I'll still be making my tutorial here which I anticipate to be north of 1 hour long with how much I'll explain everything I know here. For the run itself, I gave a quick run down of it on my Twitch stream and I'll link the VOD to that (  / 590154452  . I stream most attempts there, so if you want to see things live I'd encourage following the stream. I'll at least answer what happened at the end of lap 2 with the net LOL. I pressed the trick input and hop several times but the first net trick didn't come out, then I tried compensating with hopping as usual for the second trick to make it lower, but ended up getting higher air time, and I pressed trick several times again and the last trick didn't come out. Despite the other mistakes in that lap, the lap would have been minimum a low 45.1 to a 45.0 or lower if I had an optimal triple net, which saves so much time over a single net especially. My best laps currently are 45.449 - 45.303 - 45.345 (45.303), with failing much, much faster paces on all 3 laps already. We'll see if I stick with this for a decent amount of time and see this through to something bigger.
