Hey everyone! In today’s video, I’ll be showing you how to make a super tasty Mapo Tofu, but with a little twist—my own special version! Unlike traditional Mapo Tofu, which usually features tofu and minced beef, I’ve got a combination of tofu, chicken, pig tongue, and some delicious seasonings to bring out those authentic Chinese flavors. It’s a perfect blend of savory, spicy, and umami, and trust me, it’s so easy to make at home. Let's get cooking! Recipe: Ingredients: 3 blocks of firm tofu, cut into squares 2 onions, chopped White-cut chicken, chopped into pieces Pig tongue, chopped (optional) 1/2 lb minced pork Olive oil 1 tsp sugar Black pepper (to taste) 1 tsp hoisin sauce Oyster sauce (to taste) Soy sauce (to taste) Cornstarch mixed with cold water (for thickening) A handful of chopped scallions Instructions: Heat a pan and add a generous amount of olive oil. Add the chopped onions and cook them until they soften and release their flavor. Once the onions are ready, move them to the side and add more oil to cook the meat. Add the pig tongue, chicken, and minced pork to the pan. Stir and cook until the pork is browned and the other meats are heated through. Season with a pinch of salt and white pepper. (You can also add more seasoning later!) Gently add the tofu pieces into the pan, spreading them out evenly without breaking them. Add the sugar, black pepper, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir everything gently to coat. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water, then pour it over the dish and stir to thicken the sauce. Turn up the heat and let it cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is well combined. Add the chopped scallions and give it one final stir. Serve hot, and enjoy your homemade Mapo Tofu! If you like this recipe, don’t forget to hit the like button and subscribe for more easy and delicious recipes!
