It's Isan time! Let's have Koi KaoPun with rice noodles and pla ra soup 🌶 | Yainang

It's been so long since I cooked this even though it's really easy to make. Most restaurants and street food vendors use the same recipe. First, I cook the pla ra with pork broth, chicken broth and shrimp. To make it my own, I add herbs such as galangal, fingerroot, lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves when cooking the soup. I can't add it all into the bigger bowl. Let's do it slowly. 0:00:35 I forgot to mention that there's chicken feet too. 0:00:48 This dish is called Koi Kaopun. It's rice noodles with pla ra soup from my hometown. 0:00:54 In the original recipe we don't use lots of meat. 0:00:57 I'm adding enough meat to feed many people. 0:01:01 See this? 0:01:02 A mussel's shell. 0:01:04 I left one in the bowl. 0:01:07 It makes the broth even sweeter. 0:01:12 So just keep adding soup. 0:01:15 I need a lot. 0:01:18 So what can you do if the noodles soak up all the soup? 0:01:22 Just leave them soaking in water before adding. 0:01:26 Or just add even more soup. 0:01:29 There we go. 0:01:38 Let's add chili powder. 0:01:43 Here! Chili powder. 0:01:46 It's a must. 0:01:56 Some toasted rice powder. 0:01:59 Here. Khao Kua. 0:02:06 I like it sour, so let's add some lemon juice. 0:02:23 Now throw in the veggies. 0:02:27 It's river tamarind, bitter beans and culantro. 0:02:35 Got everything. 0:02:38 Why does it look like this? 0:02:45 Might need more spice. 0:02:46 Let's add more chili. 0:02:47 I can't eat if it's not spicy. 0:02:56 Wow. It might splash into my eyes. 0:03:02 It looks yummy. 0:03:15 What should I call it?
