Matchday 59 - Morecambe vs Blackburn Rovers

Welcome back to our VLOG series as we continue our football journey! Matchday 59 took us on a scenic 40-minute trip from our holiday spot to Morecambe for a thrilling game at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium. This match was a special treat for Nan Jen and Grandad Steve, who joined us in hospitality as a gesture of gratitude for everything they've done over the past few years, especially with Max, our beloved black Labrador who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. Our day started with a hearty breakfast and dinner cooked on the BBQ, setting a perfect tone for the day. Jen and Steve headed to their hotel to freshen up, and we all then embarked on our journey to Morecambe. Google Maps led us through picturesque back roads before merging onto the M6 for a short stretch, eventually arriving at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium. There, a security guard checked our pre-booked parking reservations, and after a brief search, directed us to the yellow car park. Another security guard verified our booking and guided us to a stoned parking area. We had some time before the game, so we took a leisurely stroll around the stadium, capturing some memorable photos. A quick visit to the club shop followed, where we picked up a matchday scarf, though unfortunately, there was no program available for this match. At the main reception, we were informed that our tickets would be ready in about 30 minutes. To pass the time, we visited the Hurley Flyer pub across the street, where Jen and Steve treated us to a drink. The pub was bustling, with a significant presence of Blackburn Rovers fans, but we found a spot outside and enjoyed our drinks while chatting. Returning to the stadium, we collected our matchday tickets and were escorted to the hospitality suite. We were pleasantly surprised to find our own table with a personalized sign—a lovely touch. Suzanne, a welcoming staff member, greeted us and explained the dining process, taking Liam's food preferences. Drinks were ordered, and we settled in while waiting for the food service to begin. Exploring the stadium, we located our seats, which were conveniently situated next to the Blackburn fans. Although the seats weren't padded, they offered a great view. Back in the hospitality suite, the food had been served: pie, chips, and gravy for Amanda and Jen, chicken curry with rice for Steve and me, and chicken goujons and chips for Liam. All meals were delicious, though the curry had a slightly strong lime flavor. Still peckish, Liam went back for a pie. With our appetites satisfied, we entered the stadium about 20 minutes before kickoff. The match was entertaining, with both teams displaying excellent football. Morecambe surprisingly took the lead in the 12th minute, but Blackburn equalized before halftime, making it 1-1. We returned to the hospitality suite for halftime refreshments—cake with tea or coffee for the adults and ice cream for Liam. The cake was so good that we managed to grab a second helping before heading back to our seats for the second half. The second half was equally engaging, with both teams making numerous substitutions. Despite their efforts, neither team managed to score again, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Leaving the stadium, we encountered some traffic but made it back to our holiday spot in about 50 minutes. Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with memorable moments, delicious food, and good football. Stay tuned for Matchday 60, where we'll be heading to Fleetwood for another exciting match! #FootballVlog #Matchday59 #MorecambeFC #BlackburnRovers #FamilyTime #FootballJourney #MazumaMobileStadium #VlogLife #UKFootball #AwayDays #FootballFamily
