Matchday 62 was an exhilarating day with a long journey down to Devon. Opting for the train, we embarked on a direct route from Birmingham New Street to Exeter St David’s. The trip began early, with a Greggs breakfast and coffee at Sandwell and Dudley, providing the perfect start for myself and Grandad Steve. We traveled with CrossCountry Trains, and their incredible staff ensured we had a comfortable first-class journey. Arriving in Exeter on time, we had a couple of hours before the game and decided to explore. We headed to the Imperial Wetherspoon’s, an impressive establishment that felt more like a manor house than a pub. The architecture was stunning, and it’s a must-visit for anyone in the area. Enjoying an IPA for only £1.79, while Liam opted for pasta, we relaxed before the game. Although Liam's pasta was disappointing, the experience didn’t dampen our spirits. We then took a scenic 30-minute walk to the stadium, enjoying the warm weather and some cider. Upon arrival, we met Richard, Exeter’s Customer Relations Supporters Liaison Officer, who had kindly invited Liam to be part of the Flag Guard of Honour. This gesture added a memorable highlight to our day. The game itself was exciting, with Exeter securing a 3-0 victory. We left slightly early to catch our train back, reflecting on a fantastic day filled with memorable moments and kind gestures.
