MK7 PCV/MK8 Retrofit: What you need to know - July 2024 Update

I've been delving into the MK7 (and MK8) PCV systems for about a year now, so figured I'd give some updates. As more people have been doing the retrofit, I tend to get contacted any time something goes wrong/doesn't work out. [Small correction: in the video one of the cars mentioned were as a 2015 A3, but it is actually a 2015 GTI - my notes were mixed up originally - my apologies!] Issues have really been confined to 2015-16 MY cars which mirrors the findings when I did an update when the basic retrofit was the only thing to really gather data on:    • MK8 PCV Retrofit UPDATES (Pt 10): Use...   The findings from that video led to looking hard at turbo inlet pipes which have a vital effect on the stock PCV systems (and MK8 basic retrofit):    • Confirmed: Turbo Inlet Pipes can Brea...   I did a bunch of testing with my crankcase and PCV pressure sensors on track which confirmed that the full retrofit helps keep the diaphragm closed which fixes the vacuum source side of the problem:    • Track Tested: MK8 Basic vs Full Retro...   There are a BUNCH of people who've been doing either basic or full retrofits in the past 6 months or so - and I'm only able to keep track of those who contact me directly, though I try to make a mental note of anything I might see elsewhere.
