I must say I am truly very happy with the gravel roads we have driven in the Free State and the one we did this day was absolutely stunning. The day was hot and sunny and the sky was a vibrant blue. As we arrived in Trompsburg the first place we saw was the destroyed caravan park and we thought it was going to be another one of those little towns. But Trompsburg surprised us! What a beautiful town! It was clean, the buildings were looked after and the people were so friendly. The municipal workers who were demonstrating even did it respectfully. We bought delicious food at the Affi Plaas Coffee Shop, sat under a tree in the shade and enjoyed it.
