Drumchapel Parkrun

Today was another lovely sunny day in Glasgow. It was 16 degrees celcius (61 degrees Fahrenheit). This was my first Parkrun since getting over covid. This was my 141st Parkrun and second at Drumchapel. Drumchapel is a about a 10 minute drive. I would have cycled if I knew exactly how to get there without satnav. The run director said this is the hilliest Parkrun in Scotland. I believe him. There aren't many flat portions and my calves were burning. The craziest part in the first downhill section that snakes along for a bit. I managed to run the whole way though I was very tempted to walk up the hills on the last lap. I finished with a PB of 35:37 (I could probably go faster if I can stay in shape), much better than my first attempt of 38:39 when I finished dead last. This is a smaller event than some such as Victoria Parkrun with hundreds of runners. Today I was the 29th (21st male & 7th in my age group) of 42 runners.
