Shegaon is a town and municipal council in the Buldana district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Shegaon has become a pilgrimage centre due to the influence of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj, who is considered a saint by Hindus. Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Temple is named for Gajanan Maharaj who once lived there. Hindus consider Gajanan Maharaj a saint with miraculous powers, and the temple is built at his place of samādhi (meditation). It is the largest temple trust in the Vidarbha region and is known as the "Pandharpur of Vidarbha". It attracts pilgrims from across Maharashtra. Shegaon has a tourist attraction called "Anand Sagar". The project's budget is ₹300 crore (3 billion rupees). Anand Sagar area is developed by Shri Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Trust on about 140 hectares (350 acres) of land. it is a spiritual and entertainment centre for pilgrims, build around a Dhyan Mandir. There is a 9–11-metre-high (30–35 ft) statue of Swami Vivekananda above a meditation cell at the centre of the water reservoir. It is a replica of Vivekananda Kendra at Kanyakumari. There is an Amphitheatre which seats 3,500 people, used to organize cultural activities, functions and exhibitions. The water reservoir being developed is anticipated to meet existing and proposed needs of the Sansthan. Khamgaon is a city in Buldhana District, Maharashtra, India. It is the largest town in Buldhana district. It is well connected to all other big cities of India as well as Maharashtra with a National Highway 6. The city also has a railway network to connect with the rest of India. Khamgaon Terminal has 1 platform from where local a train runs daily 5 times a day to the main Mumbai–Kolkata line. The city needs Express connectivity, so, Indian Railways has decided to give halt to some express trains at Jalamb Jn so that people can travel accordingly. Khamgaon is often called "Silver City" because it has a big silver market in Vidarbha, with a pure form of silver products available. Along with silver, there is a vibrant gold market and a number of goldsmiths in the city. It had previously been known as "Cotton City" when it was a major trade center for cotton during the British Raj. It is an important educational hub in the district. There are many primary, secondary, higher secondary schools in the town. The city is well equipped with facilities for higher education including arts, science, commerce, law, medical, polytechnic and engineering. The Dnyanganga Wildlife Sanctuary has situated 20 km from Khamgaon town of Maharashtra. There are many animals and about 150 species of birds there. Amitabh Bachchan had ordered a silver statue of Ganesh from Khamgaon. Khamgaon is well connected by National Highway 6 (NH 6) and Central Railway's Mumbai–Kolkata railway line. The city is served by the Khamgaon railway station, which was built during the British Raj. A Khamgaon–Jalna Railway line was approved by the Railway Minister in 2016. Khamgoan Terminus railways station which runs a local train between Khamgaon to Jalamb there is a special direct train from Khamgaon to Pandharpur during Aashadhi Ekadashi wari the nearest railway stations are Malkapur, Jalamb Junction, Shegaon and Akola Junction, from which connections can be made to the broader rail network. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation abbreviated as (MSRTC, or simply ST), is the state run bus service of Maharashtra, India which serves routes to towns and cities within Maharashtra as well as to its adjoining states. It also offers a facility for online booking of tickets for all buses. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation was established by the State Government of Maharashtra as per the provision in Section 3 of RTC Act 1950. The MSRTC operates its services by the approved scheme of road transport published vide Notification MVA 3173/30303-XIIA dated 29 November 1973 in the official gazette. The area covered by the scheme is the entire area of the state of Maharashtra. The undertaking is operating stage and contract carriage services in the entire area of the state of Maharashtra except S.T. undertaking defined under Section 68 A (b) of M. V. Act and other exceptions published in the scheme. The first bus was flagged off from Pune to Ahmednagar in 1948. MSRTC is operating a fleet of approximately 18,449 buses that ferry 6.7 million passengers daily. The Ordinary, Parivartan, Asiad and City Buses are built at MSRTC's in-house workshops at Dapodi, Aurangabad, and Nagpur on Ashok Leyland and TATA chassis. These workshops produce as many as 20,000 buses per year on average. The corporation has nine tyre retreading plants along with 32 divisional workshops. The Shivneri air conditioned bus service consists of Volvo 9400R buses and Scania Metrolink buses. The Shivshahi buses are air-conditioned luxury buses which are operated by MSRTC and some private contractors.
