Join us for our Festival service with Monte Judah. This is a somber and quiet day for all of Israel and fellow believers in Yeshua. There is no feasting or rejoicing. Instead, we are commanded to “afflict our souls” by fasting for the entire period beginning the evening of the ninth to the evening of the tenth of the seventh month. According to tradition, this fast is not connected to another fast. You are to eat before and after; therefore, the meal on the evening of the tenth is called the “break-fast.” This day commemorates the day of God’s final judgment on the world (thus we do not rejoice, even if our enemies are to be judged). Failing to observe Yom Kippur is a very serious transgression of the Torah. Yom Kippur is the final day of the ten days of awe, which began on Yom Teruah. A final trumpet blast of the shofar is also sounded.
