Muddy Waters's and Jimmy Rogers's Guitar Parts on Little Walter's Juke

Backing a blues harmonica player on guitar is a lost art. A great place to start is "Juke", Little Walter's masterpiece #1 hit on Chess records with Muddy Waters and Jimmy Rogers on guitar. Guest guitarist Billy Flynn (Cash Box Kings, Legendary Blues Band, Jimmy Dawkins, Mississippi Heat as well as many of his own great records) and I play a bit of Juke at the top of the video, and then I break down the guitar parts. I DID forget that little hammer on G to G sharp on the G string that you often hear in the song. The blending of the guitars is just fabulous in this song. I also really like the space Elgin Evans's drums creates, it's a long way from the tyranny of the 2 and 4! Have fun getting a handle on this one. I'll come back to "Shake Dancer" and some other harmonica-backing classics in future lessons.
