Well, it was July and very hot (104 F degrees) and we decided to visit Lake Berryessa. It has been at least 25+ years since I visited Lake Berryessa and I began to remember those memorable memories again. Lake Berryessa is a fun place to bring your families especially for kids. The lake offers boating, water skiing, wake-boarding, tubing and other fast-paced water sports, plus quiet coves for kayaking, fishing and swimming. I find the waters at the edge of the lake to be a little muddy but once you are a few feet out, the water is fine for a swim. The water can reach 75 degrees during those very hot summers. For those who want to stay the night, they also offer houseboat and cabin rentals, as well as camping options. A little history is Lake Berryessa is the largest lake in the Napa County of California. This reservoir in the Vaca Mountains was formed following the construction of the Monticello Dam on Putah Creek in the 1950s.
