Shasta County & Waterfalls, California - 4K Drone

#MountShasta #Waterfalls #DroneFootage Northern California’s Mount Shasta region is one of the most picturesque and awe inspiring wilderness to see. With its natural beauty, it has become a favorite for travelers to explore and enjoy nature. The major points of interest include Lassen Volcanic National Park, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, Whiskeytown Lake, Shasta Lake, Shasta Caverns, Castle Crags State Park, Burney Falls and McCloud River Falls. The crown jewel of the Cascades, Mount Shasta is a snow-capped active volcano with an elevation of 14,179 feet (4321.8 meters) that offers skiing and hiking in this gigantic mountain. On a clear day, Mount Shasta can be seen from 140 miles away. Shasta Lake, the largest lake in California, holds the title of “Houseboat Capital of the World" because it has the most houseboats on any single body of water. Houseboating is one of the best ways to spend a vacation. With all the amenities of a hotel, you can drive your houseboat to explore the lake, fish, swim, sun-bathe, watch the stars on boat's top deck, sleep overnight, and dock your boat to see the Shasta Caverns. There is a Waterfall loop that you can drive in the Shasta-Cascade region that includes 13 incredible waterfalls to visit. The loop starts on Shasta Lake, up through Castle Crags State Park and Dunsmuir, up through Mount Shasta and McCloud, over to Burney Falls and the waterfalls south of Big Bend. Here is the link for more information. https://activenorcal.com/13-waterfall... Here are the waterfalls we were able to see: Hedge Creek Falls cascades in front of the passage to a 12-foot-high cave in Dunsmuir. Mossbrae Falls is one of the most popular & prettiest waterfalls because of its incredibly unique features where fresh mountain water flows over rocks and moss. Mossbrae Falls is hidden. You will need to hike (right side) along an active railroad track for 1.5 miles so watch out for passing trains. Park outside the Shasta Retreat along Dunsmuir Ave on the road. The McCloud River Falls (Upper, Middle, Lower), a three spectacular waterfalls which are all accessible within a short walk of the parking areas. Former President Theodore Roosevelt called McArthur-Burney Falls Park the “eighth wonder of the world” with its magnificent 129-foot Burney Falls moving 100 million gallons of water every day year-round to Lake Britton. Potem Falls is a 70 foot waterfall on the Pit River arm of Shasta Lake and popular for weekend swim. Getting there requires driving on a dirt road for 9 miles to a pull-out parking area. Other famous place to see is the internationally-renowned Sundial Bridge which stretches over the Sacramento River and is one of the highlights of the Turtle Bay Exploration Park in the city of Redding. Designed by the world-famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the sundial bridge incorporates steel, granite, and glass. Also, a spectacular scenic views and a nostalgic experience for all movie fans is to visit the "Stand By Me Bridge" where the movie "Stand by Me" is a 1986 American coming-of-age film directed by Rob Reiner. It is based on Stephen King's 1982 novella "The Body". This bridge plays an integral role when the 4 boys in the film outrun a train going across the bridge. Unfortunately, the bridge is now barricaded and closed for walking but you can still take great pictures of the beautiful scenic views. Here is link of the movie bridge scene.    • Stand By Me - Bridge Scene   Lastly, the Wagon Creek Bridge of the Lake Siskiyou Trail is a nice place to walk on, gaze downwards onto the lake and watch boaters or waterfowl playing in its waters. It is beautifully framed by the snowy peak of Mount Shasta as the backdrop. *** Visit my Photo Gallery https://jayromerophotography.zenfolio... *** Equipment: DJI Mavic Air 2, DJI Osmo Pocket *** Music: Over You - Atch   / atch-music   Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/_over-you Music promoted by Audio Library    • Over You – Atch (No Copyright Music)   #Adventure #Travel #NaturePhotography #ExploreOutdoors #HikingAdventures #CascadeCascades #ScenicViews #OutdoorExploration #WildernessWonder #DiscoverNature #MountainMagic #Wanderlust
