For those who leave the safety of their porch light for the forest's antique canopy, I advise but one thing. Sharpen your teeth. - Made in one week for #BRAWL2023, Picked Clean is a folk gothic tale of a sister finally laying her grief to rest. After a lighthearted noir comedy, I felt it was best I risk another foray into the horror genre. It took several hours to get the story to a place where I had a reasonable chance of finishing it before the deadline. The theme this year was CONNECTION. The film features a connection between siblings, a connection severed with a guardian, and the trio's connection to nature (or exploitation of it). Connections between person and pet, connections between dead and living, connections between points in time, connections between the music used in the film. I really tried to layer this one.
