In fact, I was in the room when it happened..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The theme was REPEAT for this #BRAWL2022 contest so I figured what fit that more than a game of telephone? Add to that some noir aesthetic and a bit of 'weird fiction' flare and you've got yourself a film. I had to fight my instinct to make this one more absurd. Spent most of the first day on the script/shot list. An early draft had the killer be the knife, not the person wielding it. The ending of that one had both the telephone and knife in evidence lockup and wasn't as dramatic as this one. Sometimes the punchline film doesn't literally need to be a punchline. Had fun with this, finally got to use my bricklights in a way that was noticeable.
