Delay Designer is Logic Pro X's secret weapon when it comes to Echo or Delay style effects. As its name suggests, it lets you customise the way you want the individual 'Delay Taps' within a pattern of echoes to behave. As Jono discovers, you can choose Volume, Filter Cutoff and Resonance and a Pan position for each echo. But crucially, you can also create a Transposition offset for each one, meaning that you can design melodies. Things get even more interesting when we make one echo a Feedback Tap, creating a circuit, which feeds one of these delays back in on itself. This can create some interesting polyrhythms.
