This week, I’m going to make a simple, 3-part mix more sophisticated through the use of Automated Auxiliaries alone. Adding Effects like Reverb is always a nice way to add space and depth to a mix, but if those Effects treatments are ‘static’, it’s easy for them to become a little dull or ‘taken for granted’ in the ear of the your listeners. Starting with a Plate Reverb treatment, we’re going to see how Volume Automation can shape an Effects Return, before doing something similar, but inverted, with a Delay treatment.
