Dyepot Weekly #29 - Handpainting Yarn with Jacquard Acid Dyes

Let's handpaint some yarn with Jacquard acid dyes for the first time! I will dye 100 g of 100% wool yarn http://shrsl.com/qwgu and then a superwash version of that same yarn base http://shrsl.com/qwgw (KnitPicks Affiliate Links). With food coloring dyes, I've observed that the dye strikes to superwash wools faster than it does untreated wools, and I was curious to see whether the dyes would behave in similar ways when I used Jacquard acid dyes. I mixed a gradient of Jacquard Sky Blue and Sun Yellow to create a yellow - blue gradient of color. Thank you so much, Deborah, for sponsoring this video! VIDEO CONTENTS: [0:00] Introduction [1:41] Presoaking the yarns in tap water + 3 T white vinegar [1:54] The stock solutions, and trouble shooting the sun yellow crashing out.
