Day 198 learning cello : "Scherzo" Etude no 4 op. 31 by Sebastian Lee

11/9 2024 Etude no 4 "Scherzo", opus 31 by Sebastian Lee (from Forty Melodic and Progressive Etudes / 40 Melodische Etüden). Moving on to no. 4 in the second etudes book by Lee. This piece is a scherzo, which translates to "joke/funny" in Italian. So it is a funny, lighthearted piece—very enjoyable to play :-) This etude was a bit easier to play than the previous no. 3, but still has challenges with fast position changes and bowing. I think I'm getting a nicer sound in this one because I focused on lightening up the bowing. I also play it much cleaner (although there is a rough part at the end with a fast position shifts, which I spent a lot of time polishing, but it just doesn't want to be perfect, haha). I also had a lesson today and was introduced to the... ta-daaa—TENOR clef. Going to get used to it too :-) —————— This is my cello journey. Day 1 was 19th of January 2024.
