Clinical steps: • Special tray made with wax spacer and stoppers for 2ry impression registration by rubber base. • Even thickness spacer and stoppers will grantee: Even thickness of impression material (even dimensional changes), Selective equal pressure during impression registration & Prevent pressure areas in the impression. • Relief for sensitive and prominent areas like Incisive papilla, Median palatine raphe & Rugae area made by adding wax or foil to the cast. • Relief wax may be left in the tray until finishing the border molding to grantee the proper centralization of the special tray during molding procedure. • Special tray should be examined before insertion into the patient mouth. • Sharp and irregular borders should be corrected before try in of the special tray in patient mouth. • Borders made 2 mm short from full depth of vestibule to provide sufficient space for the border molding material. • Using low speed straight hand piece and carbide finishing bur to smooth all sharp, irregular or overextended borders and to prevent irritation of patient vestibular mucosa during impression making. • Open the v-shaped frenal notch properly to protect the frenum from injury & prevent it from displacing the denture during lip and cheek movement. • Examine the special tray in the patient mouth & check the proper extension of the flange borders. • The tray borders should be extended properly to allow proper registration of the denture borders in length and width. • If the tray is perfectly adapted and extended it may give suction before border molding and impression registration. #step_by_step_complete_denture_making
