Vintage "Blue Case"Baldwin 6020 Mortise Lock Breakdown

Breaking down this Baldwin 6020 knob x thumb depress full mortise lock for cleaning, inspection and repairs. The service request was to repair an interior knob that often comes loose but as usual I like to see that all things are 100% addressed during my service and as we see here, there wound up being issues I made right. To note a couple things after the fact, rather than fight the tru arc off and possibly distort it I decided to remove the entire sub-face from the parts lock and transfer it over to the new lock with your still attached. In the video I implied the pushbutton would lock the knob hub but that was inaccurate. On this model the pushbutton actually blocks operation of the thumb depress portion beneath the knob hub. To solve the actual complaint of the knob coming loose I eliminated the original 2 piece spindle and drilled through the door using the square hole in the knob hub as a pilot guide and installed a "transitional" one piece solid shaft version which uses a screw inserted from beneath the outside trim to firmly connect it to the lock.
