The route will connect to a new border crossing with the United States of America, creating bypass of the Ambassador Bridge and a full freeway link between the two countries. Most of the route runs though urban and suburban areas and the highway is being built to reduce its impact on nearby residents. The route will be sunken (trenched) and will feature many tunnels with green-space on top. The route will also be known as the Rt. Hon.
