Everything in nature must feed and although we may not like to think about it too much, some animals must die for others to live. Mum Ellen was flying home around 4.30 am with her baby on board following a night of foraging when she was grabbed by what was probably a Powerful Owl. I have no idea how she managed to get away but the owl dropped her into the local aquatic centre pool where the whole drama was witnessed by staff who quickly fished Ellen and her baby out of the pool. Neil went on the rescue before bringing them both to us but unfortunately the trauma of the evening has been too much for Ellen and she is refusing to take her baby or have anything to do with her. I did try but Ellen made it very clear that she needed this time to recover from the raptor attack and her precious newborn daughter has been entrusted to my care.
