Persona 5 Royal - I Believe (Guitar Cover) | PeetaPlays

All guitars were recorded with S-Gear amp modelling software by Scuffham Amps. This time it's "I Believe", or maybe it's "Life Will Change"? Does it make a difference, as long as it's awesome? ;D With the intro it may seem like my arrangement is way different than the original, but don't worry, the verse and chorus sound more like what you would expect. I didn't include the breakdown in the middle, it sounded pretty generic - a lot of P5 songs have a part like that - and I didn't want to arrange another one of those. Maybe next time! :) With this video we have a lot of changes, first of all I've improved my tone a little bit. I lowered the input gain on my interface (previously I used to have it at a level where it would clip regularly) and I increased the gain in S-Gear. The reason for this is that I'd often lower the gain in S-Gear, but if you do that on the Stealer amp, you'll lose the 'fatness' that comes with higher gain settings. So lower input gain, but higher amp gain gives me a pretty 'fat' but super smooth tone. I like that little bit of fizz and general clarity and definition of the highs, so my amp settings are cranked on presence and treble. I also moved the cab mic closer to get even more of that effect. I use EQ after the plug-in to mitigate some of the resulting ice picky frequencies and I think I ended up with a pretty nice low-mid gain tone. Or at least something I like more than what I had previously ;D I wasn't happy with my last mix, because I thought it was too muddy, so I've taken a closer look at my process. I started using Sonarworks Reference and bought new headphones, started mixing and referencing everything super flat and I think the result is a punchy and balanced song, but you be the judge! :) This arrangement was inspired by many different artists. For the pre-chorus melody (finger picking and then the funky version) I was listening to Mateus Asato (mainly his Skrillex song). When doing the intro I listened go "Go Faster" by Richie Kotzen (great song, great album) and when arranging the chorus, I listened to Jack Gardiner's new release. SkyPinkBlue was the main inspiration for the super mid-rangey, single-coil sounding guitar you hear in the background of the chorus. I think it actually all blends together pretty well and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I also didn't play any of the parts exactly the same on the repeats, so that makes me happy as well - I hate repeating parts :P Gear chain: Suhr Standard Pro into Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 DAW: Reaper VSTs: Scuffham S-Gear 2.9 Strings: Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10 - 46 Pick: Dunlop TIII 1.5mm #persona5royal #scuffhamamps
