PerfectDraft Pro - Does it really cool to 0 degrees celsius? Yes it does!

The latest version of the PerfectDraft Pro app has a new feature called extended temperature range which lets you cool your beer down to 0c or go up to 12c to release the flavours of IPAs. Lots of lager drinkers have been saying that they would like slightly colder lager on the PD for the warmer weather. The Blade machine has lots of marketing saying it cools to 2c (which is fixed unlike PD Pro) but the manual says by the time it comes out of the tap it is at almost 3c (you have to keep an eye on those marketing people). As you can see in this video I did a quick test with the wife's thermometer (don't tell her) and the beer really does come out at 0.0c. This was done at the end of the machine cooling cycle, which stops just after dipping under 0c. One thing to note is that dropping the temperature from 3c to 0c obviously comes with a cost and in this case it is greater energy usage at around 1.7kWh per day instead of 1.15kWh I see when at 5c for the Cali Pale that is currently loaded.
