Autumn Leaves (Fast Swing Version) - Joseph Kosma, Jacques Prevert, and Johnny Mercer

#med (Music.Every.Day) Day 346 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of new piano music every day! Today's video is another version of Autumn Leaves! This piece was written by Joseph Kosma and Jacques Prevert. The English lyrics were penned by Johnny Mercer. Today's arrangement comes from the collection "Jazz Piano Solos - Late Night Jazz". Earlier, I did a jazz arrangement of Autumn Leaves which was very different -- more of a classical twist on the jazz style then today's fast swing version. It's amazing how this piece can be the basis of two such different styles. Not sure which one I like more--they are both good for different things. If you want to check out that version, here's the link:    • Autumn Leaves (Les Feuilles Mortes) -...   Fast swing is awesome--dense chords, quick finger work, accented "shot" chords, and complicated left hand rhythms.
