Sleeping inside the car and waking up near a Kumarakom backwater canal on my 60th birthday, never in my wildest dreams I had ever thought of that. I was feeling so light and fresh, as if I had no weight and was just floating. Tried pooling sunrise boat ride, as full boat was costly for a single person, didn’t succeed as the rules of the local boat association prohibits pooling. Instead took a Rs.16- govt boat to Muhamma and back…loved it. Evening was spent riding a shikara on the placid backwaters and waterways of Alappuzha for over two hours. So amazing, just out of the World, extraordinary…once in a lifetime experience. Received a call from my friend Sunil Sharma of BATI (a famous facebook group) from Himachal Pradesh, who happened to be in Alappuzha by chance. Sunil asked me join him at a homestay near Alappuzha beach. And boy what a surprise it was. He along with his friends, whom I was meeting for the first time, sang birthday song for me and cut a cake… What a beautiful gesture, shall remember all through my life, made me feel at home thousands of miles away from my home and family…!!!
