How to use the wooden Blocks to make a Starter Bubble and make a 2-gather simple cylinder (cup, vase, etc) using a Foot Pedal Pneumatic Blowing System. (How-To-Build Video here:    • Foot-Pedal Pneumatic Glassblowing Sys...   — so you don't have to remove your mask to blow glass during Coronavirus times!) 0:00 Introduction 4:33 Gathering the Starter Bubble 5:37 Shaping the Starter Bubble 6:54 Gathering Over the Starter Bubble 8:07 Assessing the Heat before Blowing 9:36 Marvering the Tip to Keep it Thick 12:15 The Drop Heat (Stretching the Neck!) 12:45 A Tight Jack Line 14:18 Swinging Out the Cylinder 16:24 Flattening the Bottom 17:21 Transferring to the Punty 19:11 Tweezering the Rim to Thin 21:18 Steamstick to Reshape/Thin the Rim 24:03 Opening the Rim 25:38 Breaking Off the Punty This demo focuses on continuously thinning the neck-line and shoulder of the bubble using the Marver and the "Drop Heat". Once it's on the Punty we can Tweezer and Trim to thin even further. Also demonstrates the use of the Steam Stick, an old-school glassblowing tool that takes the place of a Soffietta or Puffer. The Steam Stick is kept wet and when inserted into the opening of hot glass the water turns to steam, pressurizing the glass. If the glass is soft enough it inflates to the appropriate shape to open.
