Track (https://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Fort_Fr...) by Jaden (@JadenMKW). Turn on English subtitles to read my comments on the run as it plays! 0:00 Start - 2:01.896 0:08 L1 - 41.435 0:54 L2 - 41.157 1:35 L3 - 39.304 2:25 NU TAS 3:15 Bonus Clips RTA WR - 2:08.482 by Eli (@EliDiscord) (no video; -6.586 cut) Music: The Open Plane (The Bitlands) - Super Paper Mario OST ( • The Open Plane (The Bitlands) - Super... ) I made a TAS on this track because I love Super Paper Mario! I’ve been working on this for several weeks and am quite proud of the result. Jaden did a spectacular job with the theming and details here—it’s basically a perfect recreation of the original Fort Francis from SPM. This track has a relatively straightforward layout, but a lot of the turns are somewhat awkward due to the placement of certain ramps/bushes/walls. The biggest timesave over RTA comes from taking the ending shroom cut shroomless each lap, though a decent number of TAS-only lines and strats (e.g. every double trick) also contribute to the overall timesave. Lap 2 is automatically faster than lap 1 by ~0.2 from the lap entry, but I save another 0.1 from better optimization and a couple new strats. The lap 3-exclusive cut saves about 1.75 seconds over the normal path for TAS. (For RTA, I think staying on the ledge in the cut has potential if you fall off of it a bit earlier, especially if you can get 3 tricks.) The other timesave over lap 2 comes from better driving/strats (50ms) and being able to wheelie directly into the finish (50ms). The bonus TAF clips showcase some unintended exploration glitches and a potentially faster NU route found by Michael (@mikul958). The route as shown here is ~1.3 seconds slower than normal driving, but could be viable with more optimization and a faster first clip. A quick thank you to the following people for helping me with this TAS: Ejay (@EjayB ), César (@cesar_mk), and others, for providing feedback on my prelim lap 1. Marvus (@TASmarvus), for moral support (again). Everyone else in the MKW TAS Discord ( / discord ! If you wanna ask me anything about this run or TASing in general, feel free to leave a comment or to DM me on Discord (u: ellucinea). Hope you enjoy the video—thanks for watching!
