Dance Central 2 Battle "Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'Em)" (Hard) Choreographer Series!

The Dance Central 2 Choreographer Series chugs on with @RiffraffDC and @euthanasian dance battling to Busta Rhymes' "Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'em)" on Hard for Dance Central 2 and Xbox 360 Kinect, choreographed by Devin Woolridge (@DevinMW). Summed Up: I freaking LOVE this Busta Rhymes track. Love love love it. Having Devin Woolridge choreograph this seems apt, since I feel his style amongst all the DC choreographers fits the best with this song. And boy does his stuff shine brightly here! What more can be said about Devin's propensity for referencing classic hip-hop moves in his choreography? I love all the little touches that give the routine so much personality, like how your shoulders have to be scrunched up and your back bent over to get down low. Even the occasional homages to b-boying lend variety to an already attitude-laden routine. All the DC choreographers have swag--that's what makes them dope hip-hop choreographers--and I admire and respect all of them equally. But Devin's got OLD-SCHOOL SWAG. The moves here are way swagged out and really do make up half of the fun of pulling off the routine. Sure you may get your limbs in all the right places at all the right times, but where's the dirty? Where's the attitude? I.aM.Me frontman and popping master Phillip Chbeeb put it really well during a crew audition video posted on here on YouTube (   • I.aM.mE crew auditions at soundbox! 1...   at 01:23). Essentially he says, "don't just show that you know the routine...I want to be able to 'taste' it". It's important to get the moves right (especially considering that it's a video game that scores you on limb placement), but why not put some stank on it while you're at it? How can anyone find a predictable, robotic performance interesting? Many thanks are due to @euthanasian and Harmonix Project Director @mattboch for starting the discussion which led to the eventual execution of these Dance Central Choreographer Series battles! With these videos, we not only get to highlight Dance Central's unsung masters, but we get to show off how much fun Dance Battling really is! I'm on Twitter!
