DESTINATION PATRIDA, 2024 | Highlights Day 12 (Armenio Larissa- Performance/Panigiri)

ARMENIO LARISSA HIGHLIGHTS Day 12 (Performance/Panigiri) After our tour of the Platamonas Catle, we prepared ourselves for the evening performance in the village of ARMENIO - LARISAS . Were honoured to participate in the "Cultural Summer Series 2024" presented by the Municipality of Kileler where the Μ.Ε.Σ Αρμενίου Άνθιμος Γαζής hosted a wonderful showcase of dances, customs, and of course glendi. Upon our arrival, our team was warmly welcomed by Nikoleta Vairli , Efi Vairli and other committee members, and introduced to musicians, entertainers, and other distinguished guests present. We were also humbled to meet and share the stage with two more dance groups- including the local group, instructed by Μιχαλης Τσακνακης . Upon conclusion of our dance performance, our entire team was acknowledged formally, and our school's participation was recognised with a commemorative plaque. Afterwards, it was yet another night of non-stop glendi- a traditional panigiri holding up until the early hours of the following morning, with the amazing clarinetist Σταυρος Κουσκουριδας , Violinist Thanos Roumpos , laouto Konstantinos Papadimitriou , percussionist Ανδρόνικος Καράκης and other musicians! Firstly, we extend our appreciation to former student and family of Maria Hatzilada for the proposal and introduction to local dance instructor Μιχαλης Τσακνακης , who then extended the invitation and opportunity to participate in the event as part of our Greece Tour. We would also like to acknowledge our families, friends Moutselos Nikos , local villagers, and our extended network also on holiday, who made the effort to visit Armenio for this event and support our team through their performance. Finally, we would like to thank the wonderful members and volunteers of Μ.Ε.Σ Αρμενίου Άνθιμος Γαζής for their hospitality and philoxenia, together with the other participating organisations, instructors, and dancers who all welcomed us and made our team feel immensely appreciated and valued.
