In today's video, we're diving into an exciting 3D project: drawing two intersecting beams and coping them; I’ll also add an angle bracket. I'll use the Mech-Q structural tools to input my beams quickly. Drawing these beams by hand is a grueling process - you would need to draw your steel shape to spec, extrude it, and rotate it. Once Mech-Q has modeled our 3D beams, we'll create a 2D projection of the model. This projection allows us to easily calculate how much we need to trim from the top and bottom to do our coping. Once we finalize that, we'll add angle clips and model the connection further. Finally, we'll create our fasteners using the 3D bolt utility in the Mechanical Mech-Q module.
