Convert 2D drawing into 3D using the Boundary Command.

I want to introduce you to the concept of boundaries in CAD. In the video example, I use boundaries to help create 3D walls from 2D walls and many other elements in CAD drawings. To demonstrate this, I have a drawing from a CAD course called Shortcut CAD.  See https://cadavenue.com/product/shortcu... for more The first thing to do is isolate the wall layer and paste it into a new drawing. I also created a second floor to show how the walls can be stacked.  Using the boundary command with island detection on, we can select the internal points of the rectangle to create polylines that enclose the floor plan. After erasing the temporary rectangle, we can go into the 3D view and extrude the polylines to create 3D walls. Once extruded, the walls are all solids. The final step is calculating the header heights and cell heights, which involves additional work. I'll speed up the video by demonstrating this process for one rectangle. We draw a rectangle, extrude it down by a negative value to create a header height, and extrude it up by a positive value to generate a cell height. And that's how boundaries are used in CAD to create 3D walls and other elements. This video simplifies the process for you.
