10 Tips: SUCCESSFULLY RIDE A T-BAR ON YOUR SNOWBOARD

I couldn't tell you a single snowboarder I know that likes to ride the t-bar, but if you want to ride all the best places mountains have to offer it's a necessary evil. Blackcomb Glacier opened for one of the first times this year & the only way to access it is from Showcase T-Bar, and frankly I couldn't believe the amount of snowboarders falling on it. In the hopes you have a better outcome than most of them did, here are 10 TIPS FOR RIDING T-BAR 1. DO SOME RECONNAISANCE - how long is the tbar? - are there unique features/ steep sections? 2. WATCH OTHER SNOWBOARDERS LOADING - watch where they go to load - spot any issues they're having and how you can avoid them 3. BE READY/ GET IN POSITION EARLY - line up your snowboard with direction of t-bar - keep knees/ hips/ shoulders lined up with snowboard - look over open shoulder for lifty 4. SHIFT WEIGHT SLIGHTLY TOWARDS YOUR TAIL - stay grounded through your front foot - keep back foot centered pressing against rear binding or on stomp pad 5. WAIT! FOR THE PULL - don't start moving forward in anticipation of the tow - stay centered and wait for the pull 6. EXPECT A LITTLE SIDE TO SIDE - if the track starts to push you to one side don't resist too much - the further you move to side, the more force from cable pulling you back - look ahead to see if others are affected by track and anticipate 7. FINDING COMFORTABLE POSITION FOR T-BAR - try different positions to find most comfortable - 95-100% pull on leg, only use hands to stabilize and stop t-bar from flying out 8. DON'T TRY TO PULL YOURSELF UP WITH YOUR ARMS - you will get tired - try to keep arms relaxed and use minimal effort holding t-bar in place 9. CRESTING AT TOP; SHIFT WEIGHT TO ARMS & REMOVE T-BAR - don't remove too early, if you can't take the weight fully on your arms wait until slope is flatter 10. PULL ON T-BAR FOR EXTRA SPEED TO CLEAR UNLOADING AREA - practice the timing for a slingshot out the unloading area and onto the slopes Hope these tips help you when riding the t-bar LIKE & SUBCRIBE
