Teachers Highland Cream || Scotch Whisky Review

Teacher's Highland Cream is apparently an unfairly overlooked blended scotch whisky, so this week, let's give it a look! A friend of mine bought me a lot of small, 200ml bottles of different styles of scotch to try, and this was one of them as he said it's a solid blend, which gets overlooked. If you have any suggestions of blended scotches for me to try next, let me know in the comments! It's a blend of malt and grain whiskey, with the malt seemingly coming from Ardmore, as that distillery is also part of the Beam Suntory family, but there's not a lot of information online. It's aged in ex-bourbon casks, has caramel colour and comes in at 40%. The bottle says they use a lot of peated malt, but don't exactly define what a 'lot' is, so it's hard to be sure. Anyway, let's dive in to the tasting notes! Teacher's Highland Cream Tasting Notes: Nose: Creamy vanilla, cooked grains and stewed apple with a backbone of soft, herbal peat smoke, and a little touch of ethanol on the nose Palate: The palate is light, with more creamy sweetness of the cooked grains, apple and vanilla, backed up by peat smoke and more of that ethanol Finish: Very light and short, with the sweetness and fruit fading quickly, followed closely by the peat smoke, leaving only a hint of caramel at the end Overall, it was quite 'one note', and I don't think i'll be getting it again, but I'd love to hear from you on some blended scotches I should try, so let me know in the comments! ------------------------------------------------------- I'm a total whiskey nerd and this channel is all about Whiskey, Whisky, Bourbon, Rye, Pot Still Whiskey and Single Malt Whiskey. I'm always on the hunt for the best whiskey and love making whiskey review videos. My passion is for Irish whiskey, but I'm open to looking for the best Bourbon or the best scotch too! I'm an Irishman, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying whiskeys from all around the world, from Kentucky bourbon to Japanese single malts. I also love making cocktails, especially whiskey cocktails (or whisky cocktails) and really enjoy taking a classic recipe and adding my own twist to it, or making simple, 3 ingredient cocktails Make sure to subscribe for reviews every Wednesday and cocktail recipes every Friday! https://www.youtube.com/channel/TheWh...
