Lessons in Digital Anthropology: Kaitlin Maud at TEDxPiscataquaRiver

Lessons in Digital Anthropology As adoption of digital and social media continues to rise at staggering rates across nearly all demographics, there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained about people and how we form communities online. This knowledge, however, holds interesting and as of yet unforeseen applications and implications for users and brands alike. In this talk, Kaitlin shares her experiences working in this new territory and challenges viewers with perspectives on and questions about our future. Kaitlin Maud is an LA-based consultant with a background in strategic planning and a specialization in online behavior. Her client roster includes lifestyle and entertainment brands, and most of the major technology companies. She is passionate about digital anthropology, user experience, and trend forecasting. She is also a licensed teacher and certified coach. In addition to TEDx, she has been a featured speaker with AIGA, a workshop facilitator at General Assembly, and a guest lecturer at corporations and universities across the US. Kaitlin holds a BFA in Communication Design from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In her independent research she explores areas where culture and the internet intersect. You can learn more about her and her work at kaitlinmaud.com. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
