Control a hexapod robot with the DynamixShield and an Arduino Due

Please support the DynamixShield Kickstarter: http://ctt.ec/087Uf+ In this video I demonstrate how to control a Phantom hexapod robot with an Arduino Due and a DynamixShield. The DynamixShield is a product I am building that works with the Due and gives you the ability to control Dynamixel smart servos and regular servos, and has a ton of Grove and RobotGeek connectors. Grove and RobotGeek are frameworks for robotics that allow you to purchase commercial modules and plug them in with a single cable. The Phantom is a hexapod robot kit available from Trossen Robotics. I also added RobotGeek gripper hand to the front of the robot. The Phantom is normally controlled with the Arbotix-M Arduino board. In this video I show how to replace the Arbotix with a DynamixShield and an Arduino Due. The PyPose and Nuke software are used to control the movements of the robot. PyPose is software the allows you to capture pose information from your robot, and NUKE is an inverse kinematics engine that lets you play those poses back to make the robot move with different gaits. I also used a Grove XBee socket to communicate wirelessly between the hexapod and the Commander joystick. You just have to plug in a few connectors from your hexapod to the shield and you can quickly have it chasing the kids around the room! If you liked the DynamixShield and would like to have one, then please support my Kickstarter campaign so I can get them produced and made available. I also have a stretch goal for modifying the PyPose/Nuke code so it can be used on the DynamixShield with other robot types. Here is a link to the campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
