In May 2024, I played on a street piano in the 3rd floor lobby of an office building called Tokyo Port City Takeshiba, located near Hamamatsucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line. The piano is a Yamaha renewal piano (or is it called a reproduction piano?). It was a very easy piano to play. It seemed to be even easier to play than the last time I was here. It seemed as if not many days had passed since it was tuned. This song is in the key of G, which is unusual for a Ren Ran song. At the end of the song, it modulates and the key goes up a semitone to A flat. I feel that I can play it without forgetting the chord progression when the key is G with few sharps. I think I was able to play the modulation part well this time. This may sound low level, but my problem is that I can't remember chords. This will probably never be cured. So I can't play Japanese songs because of their complicated chord progressions. Of course, the simpler the chord progression, the more beautiful it is, and I think the beauty of Ren Ran's vocals and melodies is amplified by the fact that they are over extremely simple chords. Also, songs with complicated chords are not beautiful, so I don't enjoy playing them either, and I probably don't need to play them.
