The 2000/01 Conference title race between Yeovil Town and Rushden and Diamonds came down to the meeting between the two teams at Huish Park in April. Yeovil had led the table for a number of months, with Rushden taking over in February. Before the game, Yeovil were three points behind with a game in hand, meaning that if they won the title would be in their hands. An understandably tense game ended in a draw. Rushden won the title in the last week of the season, although Yeovil won the FA Trophy in 2002 and the Conference title in 2003 - by a record margin.
