TAB Explained - Tremelo Picking

Introduction to guitar TAB, description of 'Tremelo Picking' and how it looks in TAB. Tremelo Picking means to play the note(s) as fast as you possibly can. In the video I explain a couple of reasons why it is notated this way instead of as a lot of fast notes one after another - hopefully that makes sense to you. This technique requires the use of 'Alternate Picking' - so you need to pick on both down and upstrokes of the plectrum in order to reach the desired speed. Practice alternate picking with a metronome to build your speed and - as always - aim to play all notes cleanly and evenly. Fast picking requires both practice and stamina; ideally you should also warm up before going 'flat out' to prepare your picking hand for playing fast and to avoid potential injury or strain. Don't worry if you can't play as fast as the part you are trying to learn, often times I can't either lol, just do your best. This particular technique is speed based but speed isn't the most important thing when learning guitar!
