Circular Khadi - Our Story, Outcomes and Next Steps

We are delighted to invite you to watch the recording of our webinar which took place on 30th September at 12.00-1.00pm (UK) to share the outcomes of our pilot-stage project on creating ‘Circular Khadi’. Circular Khadi was selected for the New Landscapes program by the British Council, administered by University of the Arts London (Fashion, Textiles & Technology Institute). The project was implemented as a collaboration between four organisations - Where Does It Come From? (UK), Khadi London (UK), Conserve India (India) and Khamir Crafts (India). This pilot stage of our project focused on creating and proving a method for taking fabric waste, sorting and disintegrating it, then creating new fabrics using the heritage hand powered khadi processes including spinning and weaving. As well as finding a circular solution for textile waste, our key objectives also centred on supporting decentralised craft clusters and preserving heritage textile skills.
