My Favourite Festival In The Philippines - Kaamulan (Part 1)

This is now my favourite Festival in the Philippines and I can't wait for it to happen again next year... Colourful, Beautiful, Educational and INSPIRING... I didn't take many videos because I wanted to soak it all in. I was blown away with emotion witnessing the Piniliyapan Hu Bukidnon (Glimpse of Bukidnon) performance in Malaybalay. I have seen many incredible dance performances here in the Philippines, but this one just overwhelmed me. The way the different Tribes told stories through dance and projected incredible passion for their culture... It left me watching in "chills". But do you know what was incredibly inspiring? Witnessing how students of BSU (Bukidnon State University) participated. I thought it was so beautiful how students (some of which didn't have tribal background) dedicated themselves to learning about the different tribes here in Bukidnon (there are seven) and actually performed side by side with them in this event. It is something that is so important in this world today... understanding, respecting, learning and sharing happiness with one and other. This event... did just that. At the end EVERYONE literally hundreds of people all got up off of their seats, and had THE BIGGEST DANCE PARTY I have ever seen! It didn't matter what your cultural background was, all that mattered... Was that we were all sharing happiness together. JUST INCREDIBLE. THIS IS MINDANAO... THIS IS MY BEAUTIFUL HOME!!
