Kaamulan isn't just dancing, music and culture... It is a learning experience. Standing on the main road in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, I was overwhelmed with what I was witnessing. This really wasn't a "Mardi Gras" style festival, but a deeply passionate display of ones identity, pride and culture. Did you know that just to perform, many of the tribal groups actually had to ask permission from elders. There is no drinking, no glamorizing and complete respect in the way they perform their storytelling and dancing. EVERYTHING you witness has purpose to it... This is just a little footage I had from March 25th. It will never do any justice to the performances, but I hope it gives you a glimpse of what this Festival is all about!
