Active antenna for a shortwave radio (schematic with N-FET)

It is very easy to make an active antenna for shortwave radio when you use a FET.. In my book "Retro Radio" (Dutch text) from approx 5-6 Years ago I already talked about this circuit. The active antenna is realized with a FET, the BF 245 b or BF 245 c. The BF 245 A is too sensitive for static charges on the input (quickly defective). Please note (important): when you make this circuit and use a long wire antenna outside, use a relay with a switch from gate to ground that opens when you want to use the active antenna. So that it closes the antenna to ground (earth) when the FET is not in use. Orherwise your FET will break down every 3 Months due to static charge on the long wire antenna. For short indoor antenna's this is not necessary.
