Carlo pays Tina an unexpected visit. He offers to pay her off to get Cord out of her life and raise her child as a Hesser, but she rejects his generous bribe. Cord switches tactics and says if she goes ahead with Cord, Carlo will take them to court to prevent Cord adopting the child. Tina says he has no legal rights in this situation, but Carlo says he’s prepared to take it all the way to the Supreme Court. Tina says he needn’t worry anyways, because she isn’t marrying Cord. Max tells Gabrielle that he finally found her a repairman that can fix her boiler, so she can head home this afternoon. Gabrielle tries to seduce Max again, but Max is ready to start talking about a divorce. He says he hopes she’ll do this painlessly, but Gabrielle says she won’t grant him a divorce. Jake tries to prevent Lucky from going through with his and Asa’s plan. Jake reminds Lucky that he’s not a very good shot. Bo makes an excuse to Alex so he can meet with Shadowman alone, but she proves difficult to shake. After she leaves, a man approaches Bo and introduces himself as Alex’s father, Nat Olanov (Kip Niven), a.k.a. The Shadowman. He says he wishes he could see Alex, but he’s taking a huge risk just talking to Bo. He explains he is still in witness protection and Alex’s search for him will help the dangerous people who are after him find him, and that would jeopardize his important research and his very life. Bo thinks Nat needs to get his priorities straight and admits his first instinct is to tell Alex about this conversation. Gabrielle enlists Julia to go destroy her boiler so she won’t be evicted from the Buchanan Manor just yet. Julia does the deed and returns to tell Gabrielle. When she hears Max coming, Gabriele tells Julia to hide. Max informs her that the boiler may be a few more days because the repairman has to order more parts. Tina tells Jake about her conversation with Carlo. Carlo asks his lawyer, Robin Squire, to look for Nat Olanov whom he says is instrumental to his plan to avenge his son’s death. Charlotte tells Carlo she’s starting to feel guilty about lying to Jake and hiding the fact that her sight has returned.
