Alex and Bo, both dressed to the nines, attend the Asa’s New Year’s Eve party at the Palace Hotel. Viki, Clint and Tina all arrive as well. Viki tells Tina she misses her at Llanfair and hopes she’ll move back. Renee rushes to see if Gabrielle is OK and calls in Max to carry her to the couch. Larry stops by on his way to the party to check in on Gabrielle and he tells her she has a sprained ankle. He says she’ll be fine but recommends staying off her feet for a few days. After Renee leaves to get changed, a suspicious Max examines the faulty ladder. He accuses her of sabotaging the ladder to facilitate the fall and hands her the letter opener she used to loosen the screws. At the lingerie boutique Charlotte talks loudly about her and her husband’s vacation plans and says they’re seriously considering starting a family (all for Megan’s benefit, of course). Hunter has to drag a furious Megan away to keep her from attacking Charlotte. Rika calls Kerry and asks him to meet him in the park so she can return the copy of his song that he gave her. Kerry agrees and tries to ask her out for New Year’s Eve, but she’s already hung up. In the park, Hunter asks Megan if it’s possible Charlotte was lying, but Megan dismisses it, since Charlotte is blind and could not have known they were there. Hunter says Megan owes it to Jake to confront him and hear from him whether he and Charlotte have progressed to a real marriage. Upon arriving at the party, Dorian makes cracks about Viki, prompting Herb to wonder aloud why he brought her here to begin with. Tina is distressed when Carlo makes an appearance at the party. The Buchanan men rush to her aide, attempting to make Carlo leave, but he says he just wants a few words with Tina. Carlo asks whether Tina is still living alone or if she has friends or family staying with her; Tina says she’s doing quite well on her own. Asa tells Bo he’s tired of Hesser messing with his family and he has a plan to get rid of him, once and for all. At home, Jake tells Charlotte he made arrangements for her to go to a special sight clinic, because her current treatments aren’t helping. Carlo calls Gabrielle to tell her she’d better follow through on his order to move in with Tina. Kerry asks Rika why she won’t sing the song he wrote. Rika says her sister doesn’t want her involved in commercial music. Their discussion is cut short when Dale arrives to pick Rika up for their New Year’s date. Nigel puts the New Year’s Party on TV for Gabrielle and the first thing she sees is Max dancing with Alex. She hobbles to the TV and shuts it off.
