Hey y'all, here's another belated kayak fishing video for you! This was from a day in October, when I had no plans on fishing. I was walking the Surf City, NC bridge, when I looked down and saw an over slot red drum swimming in the shallows. So, I bailed on my walk and went in search of that redfish. I can't be sure that was the same fish that I caught, but I like to think so. I was planning on fishing with my trusty mullet for bait, but I came across an oyster bed where I was able to uncover some nice mud crabs. I was also excited to finally catch some nice fish under the Surf City bridge. That's a win for the mud crabs! I like to fish with mud crabs over fiddler crabs, as they are heartier, but they are harder to find. I plan on doing a video where I show you where and how I catch my mud crabs.
